BOYER AUTO GROUP HISTORY
Welcome to Boyer Auto Group.
Boyer Auto Group has grown to become a premier Auto Group in southeastern Ontario. Throughout our history we have strived to deliver the best possible customer service with quality repairs, maintenance work and comprehensive new and used vehicle inventories. Our collective inventory has grown to house multiple brands, including:
Boyer Auto Group was founded in 1981 by Michael Boyer in Apsley, Ontario. At that time, he was the youngest General Motors Dealer in Canada! As business expanded, Michael hired his brother Peter to join the growing team. The two brothers, along with their loyal and hard-working staff, continued to grow the business when General Motors offered Michael the opportunity to build and operate the new Michael Boyer Pontiac Buick GMC in Pickering, Ontario, which opened in 1987. This made Michael the first multi-point General Motors Dealer in GM Canada history!
Peter's dedication led to his promotion to General Manager of the Pickering location, fueling his dream of owning a dealership. In 1995, he realized this dream by opening Peter Boyer Chevrolet Buick GMC in Napanee, Ontario. In 2001, he expanded with Boyer Kia in Belleville.
Over the next 15 years, Boyer Auto Group expanded adding Bay Mazda (2003), Belleville Nissan (2009), and acquired Bay Subaru (2016). During that time, they also added three more dealerships: Boyer Chevrolet Lindsay (2005), Boyer Chevrolet Buick GMC Bancroft (2014), and Boyer Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Cobourg (2016). In 2019, Boyer Auto Group added Ford, Lincoln, and Hyundai brands to its collection with the opening of Boyer Ford Lincoln Bobcaygeon, Boyer Ford Stirling, and Boyer Hyundai in Pickering. More recently, in the Spring of 2022, Boyer Auto Group continued its growth by welcoming Belleville Volkswagen into the family and opening Boyer Chevrolet Buick GMC Ajax in Durham Region.
Expanding into the Collision and Auto Body Repair business, Boyer Auto Group introduced the flagship FixAuto Pickering Central, rebranding their existing Boyer Collision Centre at Michael Boyer Chevrolet Cadillac Buick GMC in Pickering. The Group also acquired the CARSTAR Collision facility in Belleville. Most recently, the Group established its first independent standalone body shop – Kawartha Collision Centre in Lindsay, Ontario – and a second FixAuto location in Stirling, Ontario.
To this day, Michael and Peter collectively oversee the Boyer Auto Group and entrust the day-to-day operations to their sons: Jason, Ryan, Brandon, Dustin, and Daniel. Together with the General Managers and each Dealership Team, they promote employee and customer enthusiasm achieving successful Dealership operations.
